Fortnum and Mason Afternoon tea - Hong Kong

For my friend’s 10th birthday, I took my friend Tanya to Fortnum and Mason for afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is 3 tier plate-stand which include sandwiches, desserts, and scones.

Fortnum & Mason is in the K11 Muses in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is a few minutes’ walk from the star ferry. You enter a wonderful shop with lots of cookies, teas, and other specialities.

Then you walk up a staircase with a beautiful colourful forest wallpaper. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted and told they were preparing our table. So, we sat at the bar for a few minutes and had a little chat. When they finished, we were taken to the table and got the menu. We chose the afternoon tea and I also ordered some nice white king tea.

The waiter poured our tea. It was so refreshing and complemented the afternoon tea.

The finger sandwiches were light and fluffy. The sandwich selections were cucumber, smoked salmon, ham, chicken & egg, and egg.

My friend Tanya and I liked them so much that we decided to reorder the whole plate of sandwiches.

The dish on top was some scones. The scones were scrumptious. We had them with some cream, strawberry jam, and lemon curd. The strawberry jam and lemon curd were super tasty.

The third and final dish was the desserts plate. The first one was a chocolate mousse which was super tasty and chocolatey, the cookie on the bottom complemented the dish by making it less sweet. The next dessert was the raspberry cake, which was similar to the chocolate mousse because of the textures. It had a beautiful raspberry taste to it. The third cake that I tried was a cream puff with a strawberry sauce on top. The cream didn’t have much taste; it was not sweet and did not have a nice taste to it.

They also offered us some extra cakes, but we were too full.

Mini-Miche super tips

- Take the adult afternoon tea if you are a hungry 9 or 10-year-old.

- Order the normal afternoon tea not the high tea (this is the normal afternoon tea).

- Bring a cardigan because of the air conditioning.

- At the shop, choose Chocolossus biscuits, salted caramel cookies and a teddy bear honey!
